Never Forget You

Description

This is a dog the continuously came over to our house every other morning at about 9 am, just to visit. He first started coming over when Blu was reaching her second heat stage, but even after she was spayed he continued to come over.

There was one time when his flea collar he had started to become too tight as he grew. My mom warned me about it, and I told her to cut it off next time she saw him, if I wasnt around. It took 2 more of his visit to get him to stay as my mom went to get scissors or a knife. We did get it off, but it took a piece of my mom's thumb to do it, that's how tight it was.

This dog and I were great friends. We wanted to keep him, he was a great dog, friendly and all, but we already had three. Every time he visited and I had the time, I'd sit with him and pet him, and we'd hang out.

I never once fed him, and it wasnt until I moved that I realized just how close our relationship was.

Maybe he smelled my dog's scent around, but one day I heard the dogs barking and growling outside, so I went to see what was going on.

There he was, the Black, white, and tan Coonhound mix, smiling at my dog Blu, looking up at me.

The nighbors came up and apologized, told us that he strayed into their yard and they called the pound. I wanted to keep him then, take him away. Clearly the original owner didnt care enough about him to keep him at least fenced, away from the busy streets that led to our new house, or even loosen up his embedded collar before the only thing you could do was cut it off.

The Brazos Animal Shelter came and took him away, and I never saw my beloved Black and Tan Coonhound Mix ever again. Either he loved me, or my dog. I miss him.

I pray to god he was adopted. He was a great dog, and I great friend. If he wasnt adopted within 10 days he would have been put to sleep. Bless that poor dog's soul.
